Unurth is a collection of handmade ceramics by Jenn Lamb that aims to inspire wonder and connection to the natural world. Imbued with evocative color and textures, each piece is a link between ourselves and the sea, sky, and landscapes of the West.
ABOUT JENN |
I've always been a dreamer. I am the one mesmerized by the clouds swirling above or heading off into the hills to explore new trails. Nestled in the boulders of the Santa Monica mountains and armed with my camera and sketchbook, I found a deep connection early in my life that I didn’t feel elsewhere. The experiences I had there and in other natural spaces continue to define my work. The love of the universe is revealed to us through our experience of wonder- in every bird flight, the churning of waves, the aroma of sage and underbrush, the hush of the canopy beneath the deep forest and the rush of the creek.
My work is about that connection. My aim is to bring that wonder to your home and daily rituals.
BIO |
Jenn Lamb studied Design at Otis College of Design (BFA) and Fine Arts in the Santa Monica College Fine Arts Mentor Program in Los Angeles. After working in the toy industry and graphic design, she returned to her first love—crafted objects + art making—founding Unurth to merge modern design, craft, and art. Now based in Southwest Washington near Portland, she creates ceramic works shaped by the landscapes of the West and is currently developing a new body of work for exhibition.
Eternal gratitude and thanks to the ancestors whose shoulders I stand upon and the mentors I've had along the way: My grandmothers, My mom, Aunts Cecilia and Freddie Ann, Ms. Nielson (10th grade English), Robin Mitchell, Linda Lopez, Sharon Kagan, Joan Takayama-Ogawa, Randall Wilson, Jo Lauria, among many others, and all the dear friends that are in this with me. Thank you to the universe for unending inspiration and belonging.
I hope to lift others as you all have lifted me.
My studio in Vancouver, WA. Small but mighty!
